I have served as a greeter for over six years and now lead other volunteers doing the same. I love it!
From directing newcomers on where to go for “Couples Class,” assisting parents with their arms full of babies or giving direction to a teenager, I love being there to help make a visit to RHCC a more enjoyable experience.

It’s been a great privilege for me to be able to serve in the Worship Arts Ministry as part of the Technical Arts team for the past 16 years. I love serving here because it allows me to use my spiritual gifts in a very fulfilling way, and I also get to serve alongside others who are committed to making our worship experience meaningful, personal, powerful, and distraction-free.

For the last 7 years I have volunteered on the Tech Crew. While serving I get to learn skills and use technology that I would never have access to otherwise. It is great knowing that I helped someone watch the service who is home sick, or a visitor have lyrics so they can join our worship, or any of the other little ways that tech helps the service run smoothly.

I have been volunteering with Friendship Coffee ministry since it launched in the fall of 2014. The biggest blessing for me was meeting women who walked into my home for the first meeting feeling a little apprehensive and then an hour and a half later leaving so excited to come back the next week! There’s such a wonderful atmosphere of acceptance and affirmation. God brought new friendships together and relationships have grown deeper with God and each other.

I’ve been a small group leader for high school girls for the past three years. The best thing is watching them grow and change into who they’re meant to be–with God, each other, and the world they experience everyday. I love getting to be in relationship with them to the point that we laugh and cry together, and that we can ask hard questions and be honest with each other without fear or shame. Also camp. We really like camp!

I have served at RHCC with Hearts at Home for the last 5 years. The young mom’s that attend are so grateful for the time to spend with their peers, learning how to raise their children with God’s vision! What an amazing break to give them – sending them home refreshed and equipped to run their household. This would not be possible without the 40+ volunteers that serve in this ministry.

I’ve been involved with the café for the past four years. I love being able to meet new people and putting a smile on their face as they get their coffee.

I have been volunteering in the Severe Weather Shelter for the past eight years. As a previous homeless person, I get great joy in helping those still there, and being able to give them unconditional love.

I serve in the wigglers room every other month and when I am caring for an infant, whether it’s holding them, or just watching them explore the toys with their wide eyes, I literally forget my worries and my anxiety goes away. Thank you parents for allowing your child to provide that serenity I so desperately need in my life.
