Racial Unity

What should I do? What do I say? Do I even understand the real issues? These are questions that have come to my mind as a follower of Jesus and leader in His church as I consider the ugly reality of racism in our country. God throughout the Bible is clear on His love for all people, that all people are bearers of His image, and He does not tolerate social and racial injustice (see prophets).

So as we desire to grow and reflect the love of God in our own lives we thought we’d pass on some resources for you to consider. Below are books, podcasts, articles, even movies that have been helpful to myself and others I trust. Let’s grow in our understanding by continuing the conversations with friends of a different color than yourself as well as individually educate ourselves. Let’s also remember to lovingly encourage others to join us on this journey and pray that God protects us from self-righteousness in the process.

As always, when reading, listening or watching the resources below, I expect all of us to filter everything through the truth of God’s Word. Receive what resonates with God and His heart and reject that which contradicts. Let’s have a posture of grace and truth while we learn.
